Philippine German Month

2012 is turning out to be an awesome year for me. I love my job and rakets. I love my friends and my special friend. I love the books I’m reading and the series and movies that I’m watching. I love meeting some of the faces behind the blogs that I read. So good job January and let’s move on to a more awesome February a.k.a. birthday month (a.k.a. I accept gifts.)

Aside from Valentine’s day, another thing to look forward to this February are the events of the Philippine German Month. Check out their events, I’m especially excited for the Cinema In The Open Air over at Rizal Park (to you lovers out there this is an awesome date idea guys! AND IT’S FREE!)

Minimalism vs. Minimalism

I’m organizing my EHD and I found something that made me smile and remember my last semester in college. These are my journals for my Philippine Games PE Class, we had to choose 5 games out of all the games we played, share something about how it was played and give the games awards.

I was too lazy to make my own background for my first journal so I asked my dear friend Meyds to make one for me, we agreed that it should be minimalistic as to give focus to the content. I was pleasantly surprised with Meyds’ version of minimalism:

I’ve said in my very first Mema Mondays post that I was fond of photoshop-ing random things for friends back in college. This was something I made for Meyds’ (a.k.a. Joy) birthday, we love her to bits and she has been a favorite photoshop-ee of mine. (I’m the photoshop-er, she’s the photoshop-ee, gets?) Look, she’s also here.

We printed these out as bookmarks to be given away to those who attended her pizza-party-under-our-favorite-tree-in-our-college’s-parking-lot last year and look, I’m still using mine!

Wish I could do something like this again real soon, whose birthday is coming up?

We were fond of photo shoots for org events / whatnots in college which are basically our excuses for wanting new Facebook profile photos.

This is Harry a.k.a. my ka-open relationship a.k.a. beb, he’s popular now.

This is Bikay, she’s also popular now.

And of course my life would suck without the awesome bestfriend, he’s always been popular.

I was fond of making wallpapers in college, I realized we spend a good amount of time in front of our computers so why not have something pretty to look at right?

Signs of Success (Or Happy Shallow Things)

My friends and I can be such shallow beings at times. When we were in college, we discussed the things / events / outfits that determines a person’s success level.

Here are some of them, in random order. (This ain’t complete. Guys feel free to add anything I might’ve missed.)

1. Using a QWERTY Phone.
2. Getting / making lots of phone calls in a non-call center way. (Not as fun as we thought.)
3. Tucked in tops w/ belts. (Told you it was shallow.)
4. Getting annulled and referring to someone as your “ex” in a non-boyfriend / girlfriend sense.

Ayun, for us these are some of the signs of success, not how much money you make or how nice your car is but whether you tuck in your tops and wear a belt at work.

But something happened recently that made me want to modify the list. And by something I meant getting a personal assistant. I wasn’t the first one in our barkada to get one, but that kabarkada used the word “associate” to describe our other kabarkada. (Hi C and S, love you guys!)

So yeah happy person me is excited to get some assisting.

P.S. I am really working on a lot of things right now so that justifies the “I need assistance” part.

P.P.S. This would be my favorite perk with my raket/s.

The Things I Do

You had me at SEO (Or Do Something Crazy Everyday)

He calls himself crazy. But crazy people make the world a much more interesting place.

He sent a letter about a month ago to our Secretariat offering his mad geek skillz for our website. Due to whatever circumstances (like Kuya Condo Guard keeping the letter for himself), we only got around to reading it this week.

And boy oh boy, this boy is CRAZY.

He’s willing to do everything for FREE.

WHUUUT? Nothing is ever free nowadays.

So being the good “consultant” that I am, I immediately called him and set up a meeting. I’m going to be honest, we were all expecting a catch to this free website thing, like, “I’m going to do your website for free BUT you have to buy my computers / get my company’s service / follow me on Twitter.”

But come said meeting, and tons and tons of awesomeness came out from this crazy guy’s head, and there was no catch. As in. He was even suggesting ways on how we can cut costs. He’s like the first person who came to our office offering something and not asking for anything in return.

Man that’s crazy, most people think that there are money trees in Batasan. Keep up the craziness crazy boy.

In other news, I did something a little crazy myself a few weeks back.

However, my intentions weren’t anywhere as noble as crazy guy’s. And by intentions I mean bread.

You see I’ve had this idea about working for bread for the longest time. I am such a fan of Pan de Pidro, and my very good *wink wink* friend Aaron happened to know the owners. Actually it was Aaron who introduced me to the yummy breads of Pan de Pidro as he would always have free breads for us during college. I miss you Aaron, no actually I miss free bread.

I got the idea for a customized resume from Robbie Bautista. As I am very much into recycling old Photoshop projects, I used some of the pictures I took for my Broadcast Documentary class’ final project and played around with them a bit. I then added my crazy proposition and *voila* instant resume cover page.

Aaron said the owners loved it but I have yet to hear from them. HAHAHA. Hi Aaron.

So there yeah, be crazy.

Tengga Today and Tomorrow 2011 Sample

After spending about 3 hours browsing through design books in Powerbooks yesterday waiting for Lover to show up, I had this *nanginginig sa kilig* idea to make a calendar for 2011.

This calendar will be herein after known as The Tengga Today and Tomorrow 2011, why the name? Because I can only Friendship Card my college barkada plus a few other friends to cover the production – printing – calendarizing costs of this *nanginginig sa kilig* design endeavour so might as well make it all about them right?

Also, it has always been my hobby to come up with pubmats for friends’ birthdays, wallpapers, tarps etc. so yes I love them and I hope they love me back.

Below is something I put together last night, basically it’s the old Gooojab shirt design I made for Meyds. I found the PSD file last night with the channels still intact so I just played around with it a bit.
